Kashi Initiative plants garden for sustainable agricultural education projects

The Kashi Initiative planted a garden on Kashi property right outside Varanasi, India. This garden—which includes a variety of native fruit trees—was inspired by the Neem.

Neem trees hold a special place in Indian culture. Neems are used for healing. They provide shade during the summer and afford breathable air to communities where they are planted. Neems are often gathering places for friends and, as such, they bring people together. Like the Neem tree, our garden will cultivate our students with the characteristics of Neems—the students will bring people together; provide their neighbors with refuge and support; and make the world a better place to live.
