Mission of happiness

We envision a world of happy. We create happy by providing education that helps children fulfill their promise of being mindful, responsible, justice-oriented citizens.

Values in happiness

  • Integrity - the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; the state of being whole and undivided.
  • Connectedness - the state of being joined or linked; a feeling of belonging to or having affinity with a particular person or group.
  • Excellence - the quality of being outstanding or extremely good.
  • Service - the action of helping; an act of assistance; contribution to the welfare of others.
  • Equity - justice according to natural law or right; the quality of being fair and impartial.

Governing principles for happiness

  • We believe in love. It is the foundation for all our governing principles and expresses itself in how our schools are governed.
  • The well-being of our school communities is primary. Our commitment to connectedness helps each individual in our schools grow to reach their fullest potential.
  • The Kashi Initiative's purpose is to educate all who have the desire to be mindful, responsible, justice-oriented citizens. As such, all decisions are made with this mission in mind.
  • Members of our school committees are directly responsible to the students and communities they serve. The school is the core of the community and we work with the families and friends of our students to make decisions.
  • We believe that all members of our school community are valuable. Each member is served and each contributes to service by valuing empathy, compassion, and justice.
